Comfortable: the Suntour air suspension fork, which absorbs all the impacts from bumps or potholes on the route like nothing. The wide-ranging, super-reliable Shimano 3x10-speed gears make every route a pleasure. Matching hydraulic Shimano disc brakes slow the bike down safely and confidently, in any weather and even when fully loaded. The Kathmandu frame combines all the highlights typical of the series, but goes a little further. For example, the revised integrated luggage carrier IC 3.0 blends seamlessly and elegantly into our Acid mudguards. There is also a mount for a flat mount disc brake and a side stand on the rear wheel. The chassis owes its clean, tidy look to the pipe connections welded using the smooth welding process. So much for the looks. In terms of functionality, we equipped the rear triangle with a thru axle and opted for a tapered head tube for optimized stability and steering precision (even when fully loaded). And thanks to the cables running inside, the bike changes gears smoothly and the gears hardly need any maintenance. We have thought of everything - except for the toothbrush, which you will probably have to pack yourself.
