For the frame of the Acid 240, our engineers used heat-treated tube sets made of 6061 aluminum - just like the adult models. So it's no wonder that the frame is just as robust and durable as our full-grown mountain bikes. However, we have adapted the weight and proportions to suit children. The mechanically shaped tubes show that this bike is also absolutely up to date in terms of technology. We have adapted the geometry to the needs of young bikers so that it offers controllable and directional handling. In addition, there is a lower top tube that gives confidence and increases safety. And because young bikers are bound to have the occasional fall, the derailleur hanger can be easily replaced. This often makes expensive repairs unnecessary. Sometimes less is more. With the Acid 240 SL, we focused on the essentials to develop a light but robust children's mountain bike. To ensure that the frame is just as durable as our adult models, we also used 6061 aluminum for it. We have of course adapted the proportions and weight to the needs of juniors. The mechanically shaped tubes show that this bike is absolutely up to date in terms of technology. The aluminum rigid fork used saves weight compared to a suspension fork and matches the clean look of the frame, while the child-friendly geometry ensures a stable and easily controllable ride. The low top tube gives confidence and increases safety. And because young adventurers are bound to have the odd fall, the derailleur hanger is very easy to replace. With the smooth Shimano 7-speed gears, the offspring can easily keep up with mom and dad and always stay on course thanks to the grippy Schwalbe tires. And if they do overestimate their speed a little, the powerful rim brakes with power modulator and brake levers tailored to children's hands ensure that the bike comes to a stop quickly and safely. All these details make the Acid 240 SL a fully-fledged mountain bike in mini format.
